X-men Origins: Wolverine

X-men Origins: Wolverine (2009 - action/adventure)

I have to be honest to start with. When Hugh Jackman takes of his shirt in a movie, I adore the movie immediately. So as you may understand I was happy in advance to know I was gonna watch Hugh as Wolverine. Considering the fact that I know Wolverine wears sleeveless shirts and takes of his shirts on occasion.

If you're a man and reading this: Just accept it. Don't get annoyed. Hugh is cute as hell. And there's an upside for you too: Your girlfriend probably loves every actionmovie if he's in it. So you can relax and watch your movie. And maybe get lucky afterwards.

Anyway, the movie tells the story of Wolverine, one of the comicbook heroes of the X-men.
Two mutant brothers, Logan and Victor, suffer childhood trauma and have only each other to depend on. They're fighters and killers, living from war to war through U.S. history. In modern times, a U.S. colonel, Stryker, recruits them and other mutants as commandos. Logan quits and becomes a logger, falling in love with a local teacher. When Logan refuses to rejoin Stryker's crew, the colonel sends the murderous Victor. Logan now wants revenge.

That's more or less the storyline.
In this movie I love the special effects, the action scenes and I think the actors have done a nice job acting. I really got into the storyline. I've seen a few X-men movies already and this movie tells the story of how Logan became Wolverine.

You also get to see a lot of Hugh. Not only sleeveles and shirtless. But there's actually a scene where he escapes out of a lab naked! It made my female heart go a bit faster!

Anyway, besides the welcome nakedness the movie is put together in a smart way. Loads of action, bit of romance, bit of drama. It's obviously made for a big audience and they probably won't regret it.
It's not a movie I will remember in five years, but I certainly don't regret watching it either.

It will be nice to know that there's a new Wolverine movie coming up this year. About Wolverine going to Japan to face his ultimate nemesis.

Quick judgement:

>>It's a superheroe movie with quite a bit of action. Don't expect the greatest storyline ever, but it's nice enough.

>>Your boyfriend will probably love this one too (read: lots of action scenes and special effects)

>> You'll have some lovely eyecandy to watch while enjoying the movie (read: a naked Hugh)

Top 5 dreamy, lovely, funny movies

Don't expect special effects, fighting, or original sceenplays.

These movies are perfect to watch on a romantic date, girls night in or to cheer you up.

These stories make you smile, happy and sometimes they even brings tears to your eyes (because of the laughter or the emotional storyline).

I think good actors, convincing chemistry and a good sense of humour are important in these movies. They all have it! Enjoy!

Because new movies arrive I may change my top 10 when I see a beautiful new movie. :)

1.
About a woman who is coping with the loss of her deceased husband. Her husband helps her carry on with her life with the letters he sent her before he died. Very romantic, well acted and an original storyline. It makes me cry out loud, smile with love and enjoy my own love and life after finishing the movie.

2.
Dutch movie like Love Actually. Different storylines combined, telling you that, wel... love is all. It makes me smile (and cry a bit at the end). Just a lovely movie.

"Because love is just like Santa Clause. If you don't believe in it, it's not going to work."

3.
I had a great laugh with these 'oldies' John Travolta and Robin Williams. Well played, very funny. I watched it twice now and both times it almost made me wet my pants. (Not that romantic, but it makes up for it with the hilarious bits)

4.
Beautiful and somewhat spiritual story about a woman in search for herself and trust in love. Julia Roberts is magnificent in this movie.

5.
Makes me smile. I love the old "Wham"-like music clip with Hugh Grant shaking his ass! The song stays in your head for a couple of hours and so does a happy feeling.
